Dode Seidu
Dode Seidu, Coordinator, National AfCFTA Coordination Office, leads Ghana’s National Implementation of the AfCFTA by coordinating the country’s implementation strategy with multi-sectoral stakeholders; and supporting Ghanaian private sector to take advantage of the AfCFTA.
Dode founded and led the Africa Trade Academy, a pan-African organization providing capacity building, research and advisory services to Africa’s public and private sector to take advantage of regional, continental and global trade opportunities. He has over 18 years of professional experience spanning the areas of international trade policy, trade and investment facilitation, regional integration, customs, digital trade and e-commerce, private sector development among others. He has led and contributed to several significant consultancy projects across SubSaharan Africa.
Dode is a known voice, trainer and contributor on Africa Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AFCFTA) having trained Customs, Business Executives and Private Sector Operators in Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Liberia and SACU Region on the taking advantage of the AfCFTA and other international trade agreements. He has also trained public and private sector officials on the WTO Agreements on Trade Facilitation, Sanitary and PhytoSanitary Measures, Technical Barriers to Trade as well as on topics of Green Customs, Environment and Trade, and Non-Tariff Measures. He has consulted for the World Bank Trade Facilitation West Africa Programme, GIZ Support Programme to the AfCFTA, Alliance for Trade Facilitation, UNCTAD, FCDO, ECOWAS Commission, West Africa Competitiveness Programme (WACOMP), EU-Compete Ghana as well as the AfCFTA Secretariat on several trade related topics.
Dode holds a Masters’ in International Law and Economics from World Trade Institute, Switzerland; Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and a Bachelors’ Degree in Economics from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) as well as a Higher National Diploma in Statistics from Accra Technical University. Dode also serves as a member of the Africa Center for Disease Control (CDC) Supply Chain Technical Working Group- Simplifying and harmonizing trade regulations & procedures for vaccines.
